The following update was shared with the district by Superintendent Bryan Davis:
“In accordance with the Governor’s extended order issued on April 16, all Shorewood School buildings and campuses will continue to stay shut for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year, through June 30 to ensure safety and the containment of COVID-19. This means that the earliest we will be able to return to in-person District and Recreation activities will be Wednesday, July 1. As we approach July 1st, I will continue to work in coordination with the Governor’s office, Department of Public Instruction, the North Shore Health Department and our School Board to determine what safety protocols will need to be in place as we look to reopen our campuses to students, staff and the community.”
With this information in mind, we have made changes to our summer schedule that include rescheduling or cancelling many programs. We are working on our approach with each program.
We take great pride in providing quality summer programs and are saddened that these limitations will inconvenience the community this summer. With that said, our top priority is the health and safety of our staff and participants. Please know that we will continue to monitor direction from the state and local authorities moving forward.
At this time, we are still accepting registrations for programs beginning July 1 or later.
